Chipego Hachinene

Technical Assistant

Chipego Hachinene is a Technical Assistant at the Jobs Accelerator Project. He is currently supporting the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, coordinating communication between JAP and the Ministry and contributing to the development and submission of tax reforms for SMEs through stakeholder engagement and supporting analysis. Additionally, he supports jobs and labour market policy work, providing comments and recommendations on labour force and labour market issues and how these affect the wider economy. He also supports the team conducting analysis of FISP e-Voucher data, contributing analytical inputs to strengthen programme delivery.

Chipego’s earlier work at JAP has covered a range of SME and agriculture topics. He conducted a desk review assessing Zambia’s SME data ecosystem and supported a desk review on farm block development in Zambia, helping to synthesise evidence and strengthen implementation tracking and internal policy advisory outputs.

Before joining JAP, Chipego gained over seven years of experience in research and Monitoring & Evaluation across public health and development programmes. He has worked as an M&E consultant on evaluation and data analysis assignments with organisations including CELIM Zambia (EU-funded project), Zambart and the Aquaya Institute (USAID-funded project), supporting mixed-methods studies, data quality systems and performance reporting. Alongside this, he lectures part-time in public health and research methods at Chreso University.

Chipego holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Economics and a Master of Public Health.
