Coillard Hamusimbi

Coillard Hamusimbi leads JAP’s agricultural policy work, supporting GRZ on major reforms of the sector. He is an accomplished rural, agriculture and agribusiness development expert with over twenty years of experience in systemic policy and legal reforms, agricultural value chains development, agricultural marketing and trade facilitation, and organisational development and transformation. He specialises in designing agricultural financing schemes, conducting food system audits, strategic planning, and providing corporate governance and policy advisory services. He also develops technical and bankable business plans, leads lobby and advocacy initiatives, and has helped establish key agricultural commodity associations in Zambia, and was one of the pioneers of other public good ventures, such as the AgriTech Expo Zambia.

Coillard serves as a Partner and Senior Consultant at Kudu Consulting, as Board Chairman of the Indaba Agricultural Policy Research Institute (IAPRI), and as a Board Director of SEEDCO Zambia. He also advises governments at various levels and agencies, multinational donors, and many other private-sector corporate boards, driving systemic sector reforms and innovative market solutions. His leadership has been instrumental in building public-private partnerships and advancing Zambia’s agricultural transformation over time.
